History/Background: Well it all started when ....

Noteworthy Positive Characteristics:

1. GENIUS - Howard Stark is considered one of the smartest, if not the smartest, people in his day. He came from a poor and modest background and born not only a genius, but a shrewd businessman. He is an inventor, businessman, scientist, engineer, and CEO of Stark Industries. Howard was hand picked to assist the US government in the Strategic Scientific Reserve and to help create the Super Soldier Project/Project Rebirth. He worked with the army as their weapons specialist and general engineer/tinkerer. His mind was always burning, always working, and he had a whole lot to prove. Eventually Howard created SHIELD to help protect the world and became an industry legend, creating a billion dollar company that lasted into his son's years.

2. CHARISMATIC - Howard knows that intelligence only gets you so far. The smartest people in the world can be the dullest and who is going to listen to them? It takes more than wits, it takes personality and gumption. Howard is bold and extroverted, he's a natural born showman. He can talk to anyone, make people laugh even when they're angry at him, and smarm his way out of trouble. He is well spoken and knows the key to success is also in how you present yourself. He is always well groomed and dressed. He could and has charmed the pants off more people than they'd like him to admit to. This is shown in every single public appearance he has ever made, and also in the many people he's brought to his bed in his personal life too.

3. CONFIDENT/GUTSY - Howard has the smartest, he has the charm, but even then what you really need is to be willing to go all the way. You need to believe in yourself and your inventions, to convince others to believe in them too. The meek might inherit the earth, but the brave inherits the sky. Even if he's uncertain about something, it never shows. He takes risks, he tries new things, and even if he fails he's ready to mix it up and try it again in a new way. Howard showed this by striking out on his own business despite coming rom no where, but also when he flew Steve and Peggy behind enemy lines. He took a risk that might cost him his life, but no guts no glory. He also threw himself at Peggy when she nearly was sucked into a rift without hesitation.

4. ANALYTICAL - Howard is very good at separating himself from other people and thinking logically and not emotionally. He is able to make cool headed decisions because of this. For example, while he does like women and seducing women, he knew better than to do any of that while in the army. He never actually had intentions toward Peggy or any of their colleagues because of that. He also could look past people's bad decisions and give them another chance, like he did with Jason Wilkes, hiring him despite some of his less than admirable (but understandable!) choices.

5. LOYAL IN SOME SPECIFIC CASES - Howard's loyalty is rare but when it exists, it is absolute. He has a very hard time communicating his feelings to other people, so he tries to show it in other ways. His support of Steve during the war was in helping him with weapons and flying him to get Bucky, and he put his ass on the line for Peggy Carter constantly. Although she did the same exact thing for him, while being a badass in heels. His most obvious devotion at this point in his life was to Jarvis, who most people think was only devoted to him, but no, Howard loves him dearly. He's family. He won Jarvis' loyalty by saving his wife Ana, and he asked them to live with him. They take care of him, but he would do absolutely anything for the both of them. It is difficult to win him over, but once you do, that's it, you're in his heart for good.

Noteworthy Negative Characteristics: At this point in his life, Howard is no where near to the man he will be some day. Whether that's good or bad is anyone's guess.

1. NARCISSISTIC - Apparently this was a trait that his son inherited, or maybe he learned the wrong things from his father. Howard is very self-centered and self-involved. He's selfish. He can act selflessly, when it suits him, but he is always thinking about himself first and foremost. He would argue that he had to be in order to believe in himself so much he became the self-made man he was. But really, Howard Stark loves the hell out of himself, and he doesn't care who knows it. You only survive this world by thinking about #1, kid.

2. CAUSTIC/MOODY - Howard has little patience for people who annoy him. He hates stupid people in particular. He doesn't like the willfully ignorant. He surrounds himself by the pompous and powerful but he doesn't really respect them so much as the game he's willingly playing. Howard can have a really sharp and sarcastic tongue when someone's rubbed him the wrong way. He fluctuates in moods a lot and he can either be sunny, forgiving, and laid back, or snarky, cruel, and frustrated.

3. EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED - Howard grew up poor and anyone else might have given up and lived an average life, but with his brains and determination he reached as high as he possible can. But with that came this 'me first' attitude that kept him alive in a snake pit of other people, and it kept him from knowing how to handle emotions in a healthy way. He loves people and he loves them fiercely, his chosen folks, but he can't express it well and he usually tries to downplay his affection whenever possible. He's a man who has made it on his own this far so letting anyone in means he could screw it all up, everything he's worked for, because of being weak with one wrong person. He struggles to communicate anything that isn't light and flirty, he wallows in his shallowness like it's all he is, but he's not. Howard has it in him to be a good person, but he backsteps quickly if he thinks it'll backfire on him.

4. UNTRUSTWORTHY - Howard was willing to do anything to get to the top, and that includes doing shady things and knowing shady people. He sells weapons for a living, he makes dangerous inventions, and he knows it's wrong but it's good business. His brilliant mind has always been used for what's profitable. He'd like to think he could use it for good, but good doesn't make him a star. So you can't always trust the good in Howard to shine through. He might lie, he might cheat, he might refuse to acknowledge feelings or things that are happening to him.

5. FLIGHTY/LAZY - For a genius who runs a company and creates incredible things, Howard is very lazy. Some days he just wants to lounge with pretty people and drink a lot and not do anything else. Days can turn into weeks if he gets in a mood. He relies 100% on Jarvis as his support system, both physically but emotionally as well. Jarvis is Howard's best friend and he needs him for everything, so that is going to be a difficult thing to be without. He also gets distracted easily from what he's doing and juggles too many projects at once.

Powers/Abilities: He has no super powers, but his abilities do include his brilliant engineering and inventive mind. He was the foremost genius in weapon development and scientific experiment. He can also pilot planes and make a mean martini. He is multilingual and can speak English, Latin, Spanish, French, Japanese and Korean.
Character Fears: Howard's afraid of being ordinary. He hates people looking down on him. He is afraid of actually caring for people because that makes him weak and they can be taken away. He's afraid of being emotionally vulnerable and rejected when in that state.
